Captain Chris Day
Chris Day started his career teaching European history. He decided to take a little time off to go sailing and now 20 years later he has sailed across the Atlantic, up the east coast from Key West to Nova Scotia, down the west coast from Alaska to Costa Rica and throughout the Caribbean, North sea and Mediterranean.
Chris is a licensed US Coast guard Captain and an American Sailing Association certified instructor. He has three times been recognized as an A.S.A outstanding instructor and has been the subject of many articles in such publications as Soundings, Cruising World and Southern Living.
At present he teaches sailing and powerboat classes in Ft Myers Florida and also charters and delivers boats primarily in the Caribbean. Based on his depth of experience and enthusiasm for boat design he consults surveys and evaluates boats for a variety of applications.
Chris is a prolific seascape painter and on a personal level he enjoys gardening, sailing, nature and philosophizing about social issues.
